Roger started training in 1996 at Bujinkan Purdue Dojo. In 2002, Roger began training at the Muzosa Bujinkan Dojo of New York City under Jeff Christian, 13th dan, and Rob Flanagan, 9th dan. He has traveled to Japan several times to train with Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi and his senior students, and received the rank of godan in August, 2006.
