Tim started training at Steven K. Hayes' Dayton Dojo in 1983, and began training under Larry Turner and Kevin Schneider in 1986. He began teaching with Jeff Christian in New York City's Central Park in 1993. In 2001, Tim received his godan (5th degree black belt) from Soke Masaaki Hatsumi, and his nanadan (7th degree black belt) in 2004. He is now the head instructor of Muzosa Bujinkan Los Angeles.
