1. ARRIVE AT ROSSLYN METRO STATION (blue/orange lines).

2. EXIT THROUGH THE LEFT-SIDE GATES.

   The escalators face a wall, so you will

3. DOUBLE BACK in order to get outside.

4. CONTINUE STRAIGHT ACROSS THE STREET.

   There will be a small "park" with stairs under an overpass. (If you use the elevator to exit the Metro, this is where you come out.)

5. CONTINUE STRAIGHT THROUGH THE PARK (walking downhill).

5. MAKE A RIGHT on the other side of the park.

6. CONTINUE WALKING STRAIGHT until you get to the intersection.

   You will be on the corner with a white brick steak & lobster restaurant called Orleans House.

7. CONTINUE STRAIGHT ACROSS THE STREET.

8. TURN LEFT at the opposite corner.

   You will be facing a pointy/curved building with a giant tv screen on the side displaying ABC news. That is because that is ABC's weird curvy building.

9. CONTINUE STRAIGHT ACROSS THE STREET.

10. TURN RIGHT at the opposite corner.

11. CONTINUE WALKING STRAIGHT past CVS and Baja Fresh.

    Right after Baja Fresh you will pass Freedom Park. Then there will be a narrow concrete path across some dirt into a parking lot.

12. CROSS THE CONCRETE PATH INTO THE PARKING LOT.

13. TURN LEFT AND CROSS THE STREET TO THE BRICK PATHS (after passing between any parked vans).

14. CROSS A BRICK PATH OVER THE GRASSY KNOLL.

15. BEAR RIGHT on the other side of the grassy knoll and walk around it.

    You will wind up conveniently behind the Guard House.

16. TURN LEFT AND FOLLOW THE PARKING LOT as it curves around until you see the picnic area.

17. CROSS STRAIGHT THROUGH THE PICNIC AREA TO THE SOUTH LAWN.

    (If there are people using the grills/picnic tables, please GO AROUND so nobody gets mad and reports that ninjas are disturbing their reserved grill time!)

18. STRETCH on the lawn as you wonder how such a short walk could require 17 step directions.
